In 1980 CARNICAS J COLOMER SA is born, the first company of the gorup. The company started with 3 employees and its main activity was the deboning of beef Forequarters for the national market.
The first of January 2016 Spain entered in the European Union. Becomming a member of the trade organization helped the company to expand its comercial borders to all Europe since then and up today.
Thanks to the exportation CARNICAS J COLOMER started to debon the beef hindquarters taking advantage of all the carcass.
Due to an increasing mutton demand from our customers, in 1990 we founded DESPIECES CARNICOS OLOT SLU, the second company of the group.
In 2000 following the market requiremnts of the new evolving food security conscience, we certified ourselves by the ISO 9002, our first sanitary certification.
In 2008 our third company FRIGORIFICS LES PRESES SLU was grown. The main activity was the storage of the goods from COLOMER and DCO as giving the freezing and storage service to third parties. The warehouse has one deep frozen tunnel at -40ºC and thre mantainance chambers with more than 12000cubic meters.
In 2013 we open up our new facilities after 3 years construction for the new beef and mutton plant just besides the warehouse unifyng all our process in a same building.
In 2014, after just 1 year to move all our industrial lines to the new facilities we were approved by the most strict quality standards: IFS (International Foods Standards) and BRC (British Retail Consortium )
In 2013 we founded our new company and brand COPA MEATS, specialized in the goat meat and expanding our meat offer.
On 2020 our plant has succesuflly approved the WELFARE standards. With this approval we want to underline our commitment concerning the improvement in terms of good, respectful and sustainable practices towards the animals.
In 2021 we have approved our plant for the production and storage of ORGANIC products, guaranteeing that all products packaged under this stamp will accomplish the quality and animal protection required by the regulation.
In 2023 we installed more than 1400 solar panels at our facility ensuring energy savings and promoting a more sustainable production in harmony with the environment
